“An extraordinary line-up … Forced Entertainment, Alastair MacLennan, Anne Seagrave, Curious, Forkbeard Fantasy, Geraldine Pilgrim, Ron Athey, and many more. An unmissable event.”

Celebrating the 30th Anniversary of THE NATIONAL REVIEW OF LIVE ART, which took place
Wednesday 17 – Sunday 21 March 2010 in Glasgow

This NRLA30 website features highlights from the documentation of the 2010 edition of the Festival when artists from across the Festival’s 30-year history presented new work.

There are 75 videos of performances to choose from the list of artists plus links to artist websites, essays, articles, podcasts and reflections.

The site will continue to evolve, eventually featuring work from across the NRLA’s 30-year history alongside new projects to connect NRLA artists with current generations through new events, interviews and writing.

Mary Brennan, performance critic for The Herald newspaper, wrote in the NRLA catalogue for the 30th Anniversary Festival:

Some of those who appear during this 30th anniversary season have kept faith with the flexibility and questing energies that have charactered these events from the beginning. Others are relative newcomers, but they too are significant in the way they view change – in society at large or in their own particular process – as a stepping stone forward, not a stumbling block.  And if, sometimes, during this 30th anniversary programme it seems as if we’re inclined to look back, it’s only to reflect on how far these radical initiatives have come…”
